Job Summary
A Pipe Fitter is responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining piping systems in various industrial, commercial, and residential settings. They play a critical role in ensuring the efficient and safe operation of piping systems by reading blueprints, using various tools, and adhering to safety standards.
Responsibilities:
- Install and repair piping systems according to blueprints and specifications.
- Measure, cut, thread, and bend pipes to required angles.
- Test piping systems for leaks using appropriate tools and equipment.
- Assemble and secure pipes, tubes, fittings, and related equipment according to specifications.
- Inspect work sites for obstructions and other safety concerns.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely and accurate completion of projects.
- Utilize hand and power tools to perform installation and repair work.
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.
Requirements and Skills:
- Proven experience as a Pipe Fitter or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of piping systems, materials, and methods.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Good physical condition and stamina to work in various environments.
- Relevant certification or technical education in pipe fitting or a related field.
