Position: Steel Fixer
Job Overview: A Steel Fixer is responsible for positioning and securing steel bars or mesh in concrete forms to reinforce concrete structures. This role requires knowledge of construction techniques, attention to detail, and the ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
Responsibilities:
- Interpret construction drawings and specifications to determine the required materials.
- Cut, bend, and place steel bars or mesh in concrete forms.
- Secure steel bars or mesh using wire, clips, or welds to ensure stability and alignment.
- Measure and cut steel bars to the required length using equipment like saws or torches.
- Bend steel bars to the required shapes using hand tools or machinery.
- Arrange and tie steel bars and mesh in place as per the design specifications.
- Inspect the installed steel structures for alignment, strength, and stability.
- Maintain tools and equipment used in steel fixing operations.
Requirements and Skills:
- Proven experience as a Steel Fixer or similar role in construction.
- Ability to read and interpret construction blueprints and specifications.
- Knowledge of construction safety regulations and procedures.
- Physical strength and stamina to handle heavy materials and tools.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and precision in measurements.
