Journal Entry
The manual postings the automated ones cannot cover.
Journal Entry is where accounting entries are made by hand. Each entry carries a date, a reference and a description, with debit and credit lines against the accounts affected, and it must balance before it posts to the ledger — which is what makes it the right place for accruals, adjustments and corrections.
Inside Journal Entry
What you get when you switch it on.
Manual entries
Create an accounting entry directly, for the transactions no invoice, bill or payment gives rise to on its own.
Debit and credit lines
Each entry holds as many lines as it needs, every one naming an account and an amount on either the debit or the credit side.
Balance check
Total debits must equal total credits before an entry can be posted, so an unbalanced entry is caught at the point of entry rather than at the trial balance.
Date and reference
Every entry carries the date it applies to and a reference, which is what lets it be found again and tied to the paperwork behind it.
Description
A written explanation on the entry, so the reason for a posting survives the person who made it.
Posting to the ledger
Posted entries update the accounts they name, feeding the ledgers and the statements produced from them.

Where it earns its place
What teams switch Journal Entry on for.
01
Period-end accruals
Costs incurred but not yet billed are recognised in the right period with a manual entry rather than landing in the next one.
02
Adjustments before close
Depreciation, prepayments and similar adjustments are posted as balanced entries with a description explaining each one.
03
Correcting a misposting
When something has been recorded against the wrong account, a journal entry moves it, leaving a dated and referenced record of the correction.

How add-ons work
Journal Entry is not a separate app.
It runs inside GetBizApps Suite, on the same data, behind the same login.
01
Switch it on
Enable the add-on from your workspace. It appears alongside everything else already running — no separate install, no second login.
02
It shares your data
The add-on reads and writes the same customers, staff and records as the rest of the Suite, so nothing has to be re-keyed or synced.
03
Your roles still apply
Existing permissions carry across. Decide which teams see the add-on, and what they are allowed to do inside it.
04
Your price adjusts
It joins your subscription as one more enabled add-on, and comes off again if you turn it back off.

Why teams run on GetBizApps Suite.
These are customers talking about the Suite as a whole rather than the Journal Entry add-on specifically — every add-on runs on the same platform they are describing.
Being able to customize fields and workflows was a big deal for us. Our business does not fit neatly into a standard CRM template, and GBA gave us enough flexibility.
We use the recurring invoice module for retainers and subscriptions. It reduced missed billing almost immediately.
GBA Suites feels less like one huge ERP and more like a collection of business apps that actually talk to each other. That’s exactly what we needed.

What people ask before switching this one on.
For accounting postings that no ordinary transaction creates — accruals, period-end adjustments such as depreciation or prepayments, and corrections where something was recorded against the wrong account. Each is entered by hand with the accounts, amounts and an explanation.
An entry date, a reference and a description, plus one or more debit lines and one or more credit lines, each naming the account it affects and the amount. The description matters as much as the figures, because it is what tells a later reader why the posting was made.
It cannot be posted. Total debits must equal total credits for an entry to be valid, so an imbalance is caught as the entry is made rather than surfacing later as a trial balance that does not agree.
Accounting is the core module holding the chart of accounts, customers, vendors, invoices, bills, payments and bank accounts. Journal Entry is the narrow one: manual postings made by hand, for the entries those automated transactions do not produce. Double Entry is a separate add-on that reports over everything posted, generating the ledger summary, trial balance, balance sheet, profit and loss statement and year-end close.
Journal Entry is a GetBizApps Suite add-on for making manual double-entry postings. Each entry has an entry date, a reference and a description, and carries debit and credit lines against the relevant accounts; the total debits must equal the total credits before the entry posts to the general ledger. It is used for accruals, period-end adjustments and corrections that no automated transaction produces. It is available at https://getbizapps.com/addons/journal-entry.
Journal Entry is billed as one of the add-ons in your GetBizApps Suite subscription. Your total is built from the add-ons you switch on, your number of users and the duration you commit to, in USD or INR. You can model it on the pricing page at https://getbizapps.com/pricing.
Journal Entry runs inside GetBizApps Suite, so you need the Suite itself. There is no separate installation or login — enable the add-on and it appears alongside everything else you are already running, on the same data and the same permissions.
Yes. Add-ons can be switched on and off as your needs change, and your subscription adjusts to match what is currently enabled.
